You were invited to another one of your friend Gilbert's pointless parties.
This particular party was quite different, though. It was being held on July 4, at 8:00: your best friend Alfred's birthday. You had noticed that he had been acting incredibly strange around you, and almost ignoring you. He responded to your paragraph-long text with "K."
You had figured that he was just having some off days, but those so-called "off days" had turned into "off weeks".
Before the party, you slipped into a black tank top and a pair of jeans. Your hair was in a loose bun, and your makeup was sparse. As you glanced at your watch, you realized that you were late. You threw on your black converse, and headed outside. Gilbert's house was only a few blocks away, so walking was most likely the best option.

When you arrived, the party was already in full swing. Ludwig was putting up with Feliciano, Kiku was politely talking to Heracles, Antonio was eating a tomato, and Katyusha was flirting with Matthew. Gilbert strolled towards you.
"Hey, frau! This party is now even more awesome!" he said, over the music.
You stepped in, looking for Alfred. Venturing into the living room, dining room, basement and kitchen, you found that he was nowhere to be seen. You shrugged it off, and got a plastic cup full of cola. Finding yourself a comfortable spot on the couch and an engaging conversation with Feliks, you swayed, and sang along to the Gorillaz song that was playing.
After a while, Feliks found Toris, and they left you alone. Francis slid beside you on the couch.
"Bonsoir, ____~" the frenchman purred.
"Hi, Francis. Do you know where Alfred is? He's been acting really weird, lately..." you said.
"How so?" he questioned, his eyes showing genuine concern. (And the usual "You. Me. Bed. Now" eyes)
"Well, he hasn't been answering his phone, he's been blushing and stuttering a lot, he's been really quiet, and we both know that's strange..." you trailed off.
"Cela ressemble à l'amour!" Francis exclaimed.
"…" You tilted your head to the side.
"...It sounds like love…" said Francis.
"It's most definitely does not!" You said. You felt your face warm up, as you remembered a couple of months ago, when you asked him on a date, and he turned you down.
"He's in the backyard, mon cherie." Francis sighed.
"Thanks, frenchie." you said, as you picked yourself up off of the couch, and made your way towards to the back door.

(Alfred's POV)
Why was I so stupid? Why didn't I listen to Francis's advice?
Thoughts like these were bouncing around in my head that night as I was sitting in Gil's old oak tree. ______ was just so... fantastic.
She had asked me out two months, three days, 8 hours, and 21 seconds ago, and I was too stupid to note that it was supposed to be a real date. I've loved _____ for almost 4 years, but all the times I've tried to tell her, we've been interupted, or I've chickened out. Heroes don't chicken out! That's why I want to tell her tonight.
All of the sudden, I heard the door open.
"Alfred?" I heard ____ call.
"U-Up here" I said. Dammit! Keep it together, Alfred!
_____ looked up. She took a second to look at the tree, and she started to climb up. Once, she reached the branch beside mine, she looked into my eyes, with her gorgeous (e/c) ones.
"What's up, Alfred?" she said, looking immensely concerned.
"What do you mean?" I choked out.
"You know what I mean, Al. You haven't been yourself lately."
"Umm, well…"
"Yes?"
"...Ya see…"
I felt my face turn a bright red.
"Yes??" she motioned for me to continue.
"Screw this!" I exclaimed.
I pulled her in close, and pressed my lips to hers. My eyes shut, and my brows furrowed. I was preoccupied with how soft her lips were when I realized:
She was totally kissing me back.
After a while, the need for air arose, and pulled us apart.
"_____ILoveYouIAlwaysHave!" I said quickly.
She smiled.
"I'm in love with you, too, Alfy"
We started leaning in for another kiss, but in the distance I heard Peter yell:
"ALFRED AND _______ SITTING IN A TREE! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
Too bad for him we decided to continue where we left off.
But I got used to him I guess. :/
